Jennifer Hudson and her son, David Daniel Otunga Jr., spent the weekend with Tasha Cobbs Leonard at her album’s live recording session. Jennifer took to Instagram to thank the Gospel recording artist for her invitation to join the crew onstage and backstage.
“And now the woman of the hour, @tashacobbsleonard,” Hudson shared on her Instagram page. “I’m so happy we finally got to do this together,” Jennifer exclaimed. “What an amazing night,” the recording artist continued. “And so good to see so many other people I love like @michellewilliams, @imericacampbell, @rickydillard, and @georgehuff4real.”
David Jr. and Jennifer Hudson were surrounded by Gospel royalty at Tasha Cobbs Leonard’s live recording. Erica Campbell, Karen Clark Sheard, and Ricky Dillard were three of many notable recording artists to take the stage and collaborate with Tasha at Greenwood Oasis, which is on the campus of New Life Covenant Church in Chicago, Illinois.
Tasha Cobbs and her husband, Kenneth Leonard, have been in the spotlight lately for more reasons than one. Not only did the couple recently launch a church called The Purpose Place, but they also adopted a son named Asher after enduring fertility struggles.
“After all of the disappointment, and it was many times that we tried and we were disappointed, but you have to have something internally that saying, ‘I believe that this is what is meant for me,'” Tasha recently said of her and Kenneth’s determination to start a family together.
“To have Asher now, and just the story behind how we got him, it is beyond what we could have imagined or expected,” the Gospel recording artist shared with PEOPLE. “He is more than what we could have prayed for. So we are super excited just to watch him every day.”
Asher is Tasha Cobbs and Kenneth Leonard’s first child together. Kenneth also has three kids from previous relations.
