“Beyond blessed to receive an offer from Syracuse University,” Kiyan told his social media followers. Kiyan’s mom, La La Anthony, also took to social media to praise her son on a job well done.

She wrote, “Proudest mom on the planet! Your hard work and dedication is paying off. You are my son, my best friend, & my hero @kiyananthony…to get a scholarship offer from the school your dad won a championship with is mind blowing…keep GOD first and everything else will follow… thank you @syracuseu. I LOVE YOU & I WILL ALWAYS BE YOUR #1 FAN!!”

Carmelo Anthony made quite the impact during his time at Syracuse University. The star athlete helped lead his team to an NCAA championship during the 2002-2003 season. Carmelo was also named the NCAA Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player that same year.

Kiyan Anthony is following closely behind his father in the way of basketball. The youngster already has impressive stats for an athlete in his age category. Kiyan has also been studying the game from the sidelines while attending various NBA matches with his dad.

“Anthony has a nice looking jumper and not surprisingly looks to have picked up some of his father’s moves on the wing,” Eric Bossi of 24/7 Sports said of Kiyan’s techniques on the court earlier this year.

Carmelo has also taken notice of his son’s above average talent. The NBA star, however, recently shared his desire to retire instead of playing basketball professionally alongside his son.

“No. No, I do not,” Carmelo replied when asked if he wanted to play in the NBA with his son. “I think it will be time for me to pass him the torch,” Anthony revealed. “I’d rather just pass him the torch when that time comes,” the star athlete reiterated.

Kiyan is Carmelo Anthony’s son with his ex-wife, La La Anthony. The youngster celebrated his fifteenth birthday earlier this year.
