Congratulations to Skylar Diggins and her husband, Daniel Smith, who are expecting their second child together. The WNBA Mercury star shared the news with her fans earlier this week.

“New addition loading,” Skylar said of her family’s expansion. Dozens were thrilled to learn of her expectancy.

“Yes,” June Ambrose exclaimed. “Congrats, Skylar,” she continued. “So happy for you.” Others also gave congratulatory remarks as well.

Skylar Diggins married Daniel Smith in 2017. They welcomed their son, Seven, in 2019. Skylar spoke about her decision to return to the basketball court nine weeks after welcoming her son during an interview earlier this year.

“Nine weeks after I had him I was in practice,” Skylar told the press. “Physically, I felt fine but I was in this fog that I just didn’t understand what was going on,” she admitted. “It was hard for me to explain my emotions,” Skylar said of her mental space after returning to work weeks after giving birth to her son.

“When you go through postpartum depression you kind of get this feeling like you’re the only one going through this and you don’t really wanna ask for help,” the WNBA star shared. “It just really took a lot from my support system, from my husband, and just talking to people, professionals, to get back in that feeling to where I felt like myself again,” Diggins-Smith said of her battle with postpartum depression.

Some may recall Skylar playing the entire 2019 season while pregnant. “I was 14 weeks when I got done with the season, so I played with him through my first trimester,” the star athlete shared during an interview earlier this year. “You just get tired,” she added. “It’s a lot of fatigue.”

Skylar Diggins and Daniel Smith are expecting their second child to arrive next year.
