“I come from three, so I think the door’s still open,” Kotb reveals. You can see Hoda and her dream family on the cover of May’s issue of PEOPLE. The celebrity mom’s oldest daughter, Haley Joy, is photographed while looking at her younger sister, Hope Catherine, who Hoda adopted a few weeks ago.

“I wanted another child, and I also thought Haley needs somebody to witness her life all the way through,” Kotb tells PEOPLE. “A second child would just make it complete,” she adds. However, “So much time passed that I started to think that maybe it’s not for us.”

Still, even with doubt clouding over her dreams, Hoda Kotb maintained hope. “I just can’t believe how in a blink, life changes, and all of a sudden there are two babies in this house,” the celebrity mom reveals. “I’m just overwhelmed with joy,” she continues.

“I felt like, before Haley came, I’d had an average life,” Kotb shares. “She stepped in it, my heart exploded. And then, all of a sudden, this little girl Hope steps in and you realize how much room there is in there. You think you’re topped out. But your heart’s ability to expand blows my mind.”

Will Hoda Kotb expand her family by one more in the near future? We will have to keep watching the TODAY co-anchor to find out! Stay tuned for more celebrity mom news!
