Awards season is just around the corner and nominations are flowing in. And of course, fans are waiting with bated breath to see if their favorites have made the cut. Well, some BCKOnline favs are definitely out front for awards season as Saniyya Sydney, Marsai Martin, and more are nominated for BET Awards 2022.
In addition to Sydney and Martin, the complete list of nominees for the BET Awards 2022 Young Stars Award include:

According to BET, this year’s nominees reflect an abundance of creative expression and Black excellence across music, television, film, and sports.
This year, the annual awards show will be hosted by award-winning actor, writer, director, producer, and philanthropist Taraji P. Henson.
Each one of the nominated young stars have proven that they are truly the best of the best when it comes to young Black Hollywood.
Akira Akbar is know for her current role in the Peacock series, Bel-Air. Akbar is also known for Captain Marvel, We Can Be Heroes, and Criminal Minds.
Demi Singleton is known for the critically acclaimed movie, King Richard, where she portrayed the young Serena Williams. Singleton is a dancer and singer, in addition to being an actress, is also known for her role in the Godfather of Harlem.
Marsai Martin has grown before our eyes on the hit ABC television show Black-ish. She has transformed into entrepreneur, producer, and activist, garnering accolades that speak volumes to her hard work and dedication to the industry.
Miles Brown is truly one talented actor and rapper. He has entertained audiences for multiple seasons alongside Marsai Martin on Black-ish. In addition to Black-ish, Brown is also a super talented dancer and let’s not forget, a diehard sports fan.
Saniyya Sidney most recently is known for the critically acclaimed movie, King Richard, where she portrayed the young Venus Williams. However, in addition to King Richard, Sidney can be seen in the Showtime series, First Lady. Her resume also boasts roles in The Passage, Fast Color, Fences, and Hidden Figures, just to name a few.
Storm Reid has captivated audiences with her performance in HBO‘s Euphoria. However, her resume did not start there. Reid is known for coveted roles in projects such as A Wrinkle in Time, 12 Years A Slave, Don’t Let Go, The Invisible Man, The Suicide Squad, The Thundermans, and many others. In addition to being in front of the camera, Reid is currently a student at USC.
The BET Awards was established in 2001 by the Black Entertainment Television network to celebrate African Americans in music, acting, sports and other fields of entertainment over the past year.
This year’s show show will air live on Sunday, June 26, 2022 on BET at 8 pm ET/ PT. Nominees and guests will all join together to see who will take home this year’s honor at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, CA.
