Madonna had all six of her children present to help her celebrate her birthday earlier this week. The ‘Papa Don’t Preach’ singer had a smash-hit bash in Italy to ring in her sixty-third birthday, which was this past Monday (August 16).
The party was completely out of the box in true Madonna fashion. The ‘Hung Up’ singer took pictures with all of her kids at the event and even let them take a few candids on their own to share the spotlight. “Birthdays are a time for Reflection, Gratitude, and Self Examination,” Madonna told her social media fans.
Several fans took to Instagram to wish Madonna well on her birthday. “Happy birthday,” Rosie O’Donnell shared. “I love you.” Another fan wrote, “Let’s celebrate Madonna’s birthday together on Twitter and social media using #HappyBirthdayMadonna.”
Madonna has quite an impressive career that spans more than 30 years. The Pop singer remains a living legend because of her creative spirit that sometimes leads to controversy. It was just last year that Madonna faced criticism for her stance about police brutality. The singer had strong words for corrupt law enforcement, which led some to call for a boycott of her music. The backlash only lasted for a few days, however, as Madonna’s fans outweighed her critics.
“I’m a human being, a thinking human being, and sometimes it does look pretty dark,” Madonna shared during a recent interview with Drowned Madonna. “And then sometimes I think, ‘You know what? There’s light at the end of the tunnel. There is hope for the human race. Civilization as we know it will not collapse after all.’ But then there are other days when crazy stuff happens and you’re like, ‘Nowhere is safe. Nothing is safe. Nothing will surprise me. You can’t rely on anybody or anything and no one has a moral compass. So yes – End Of Days.”
Madonna has two sons – David Banda and Rocco Ritchie – and four daughters – Lourdes Leon, Mercy James, Estere Ciccone, and Stelle Ciccone – in all. Lourdes and Rocco are the singer’s adult children.
