Sovereign Bo Raymond is officially 6!
Usher and Jenn Goicoechea marked their daughter’s birthday on September 24 on Instagram with sweet messages and photos from the joint bash she shared with her younger brother, Sire, who turns 5 on Sept. 29.
For her special day, Sovereign enjoyed a “Let’s Get Fancy!” dress-up party with her friends, complete with tiaras, feather boas, gloves and a mini fashion show.
“Happy 6th Birthday to my daughter Sovereign!!” Usher captioned his post.
Goicoechea wrote a longer message for her little girl, whom she affectionately calls “The Bo.”
“Sovereign ‘The Bo’ Raymond, all I can say is—you are living proof that love heals all,” she said. “Your heart, your joy, and the way you love so freely are truly amazing to witness. You bring so much light into our lives just by being YOU.”
She continued, “Watching you grow has been one of my greatest blessings. Never lose that beautiful heart, that big personality, or the love you give so effortlessly. We love you beyond words, my baby. Happy 6th Birthday, Sové! @usher.”
Along with the tribute, Goicoechea posted a photo of herself with her daughter, who held a bouquet of flowers while wearing oversized “Happy Birthday” glasses.
In another picture, Sovereign turned to the side to show off her braids, which were decorated with colorful letter clips spelling out her name.
“She insisted that the hair be shown lol,” Goicoechea joked.
Born on Sept. 24, 2020, about a month ahead of her expected arrival, Sovereign is Usher and Goicoechea’s first child together and the singer’s only daughter. They welcomed Sire Castrello Raymond the following year.
During a May 2021 interview with Extra, Usher explained why the name Sovereign felt right for his little girl.
“Sovereign, man, is such a beautiful word and name to me, you know, a supreme ruler is obviously the defined name,” he said. “She’s definitely ruling the household, but Sovereign Bo — Bo is at the end of it, so [she’s] my little ‘reign-bo.’”
The singer also shares older sons Usher “Cinco” Raymond V, 18, and Naviyd Ely Raymond, 17, with ex-wife Tameka Foster.
