LeBron “Bronny” James Jr., the eldest son of 4-time NBA champion LeBron James, has inherited much of his father’s skill, particularly his shooting, and LeBron recently praised him for it.
Bronny James, who turned 16 on October 6, takes after his father, playing basketball for Sierra Canyon High School in Califonia. SLAM High School recently posted a series of videos that show Bronny making jump shots from the three-point line during games, often with defenders in his face. The caption for the post reads: “People really sleep on Bronny’s jumper. 😴 Low key sharp shooter from three 😈.”
LeBron James praised his son’s shooting in agreement on his Instagram Stories, writing: “Pure shooter!!!! Beautiful follow thru.” It’s not the first time LeBron has praised Bronny’s jump shot; in fact, LeBron even said in 2019 that Bronny and his second son Bryce James both have better jump shots than him. “Can’t ever be mad at the facts!!! Flame thrower he has!” said LeBron at the time. “And by the way I probably got the 3rd best jump shot in the household. Bryce Maximus got a cooker too!”
LeBron James’ praise for Bronny’s jump shot is definitely not without merit, as LeBron is no slouch himself when it comes to shooting and has reigned as the best basketball player in the world for much of his legendary career. He recently proved it by leading his team, the Los Angeles Lakers, to their 17th NBA Championship win after defeating the Miami Heat in six games in the 2020 NBA Finals.
In Game 6 of the 2020 Finals, LeBron led his Lakers with 28 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists (a triple-double) to clinch the NBA title. LeBron was honored with his fourth NBA Finals MVP (Most Valuable Player) award for his efforts and is the only player in NBA history to win the NBA Finals MVP with three different teams.
