How many kids does Remy Ma have? That’s the question fans want answered after her 23-year-old son, Jayson Scott, was arrested Tuesday for the June 2021 murder of a man in Queens.
According to the New York Police Department, Scott faces serious charges including first-degree murder, second-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and reckless endangerment.
Remy Ma has two Kids
Remy Ma, real name Reminisce Kioni Mackie, has two children: Jayson “Jace” Smith,23, and a daughter named Reminisce Mackenzie,5, affectionately dubbed “The Golden Child.
Having experienced fertility challenges before having her daughter with husband Papoose, Remy candidly shared her journey in an op-ed for O magazine in 2018.
“I do think time played a big part into my situation,” the celebrity mom shared back then. “I have an 18-year-old son, and I put off having a second baby for many years. I’d say ‘Okay, I’m gonna do it next year…’ and then I’d get another contract.”
Reflecting on balancing motherhood and her career, she acknowledged the pressures faced by many working women.
She continued, “Before I knew it, I was in my mid-30s and still putting it off, not realizing my body was not the same body I had when I had my son Jayson, when I was 20. My body’s not even the same as it was when I was 30! I think a lot of working women feel this way—like they’re forced to make the choice between motherhood and their career.”

In addition to her biological children, Remy Ma is a stepmother to Papoose’s children from previous relationships. Papoose has three children: Dejanae Mackie, born November 1996, Shamele Mackie, born April 1999 and Destiny, born September 2000.
Remy Ma is a grandmother
Jayson and girlfriend Diamond welcomed their daughter, Milani, in 2020, making Remy Ma a grandmother for first time. Notably, Remy did not attend the baby shower that took place in 2019.
Diamond took to social media to share that despite Remy’s abscence, they were looking forward to parenthood.
“Me and My Babyfather is Gucci great and we both happy to bring Milani into this world. His mother didn’t show up and it’s not the end of the world nor is it hate towards her. We gonna continue to stand tall and be the best parents to our child,” Diamond concluded.
Remy Ma and Jayson have had their ups and downs over the years. At one point, rapper Nicki Minaj accused Remy Ma of neglecting Jayson “over a stack”. However, Jayson responded in 2020, asserting that he talks to his mother “every f&*king day.”
