Khari Barbie, the daughter of Masika Kalysha and Fetty Wap, recently had a blast at cheer camp with Sophia Pippen and the Combs twins. Khari shared her joy on her Instagram page, praising the twins and Sophia Pippen for being great teachers.
“Cheer camp was so much fun @the_combs_twins and @sophiapippen33 are the best teachers,” Khari shared.
Despite her father, Fetty Wap, being incarcerated, Khari is thriving, thanks in part to her strong support network.
In a recent interview, Masika shared that her husband, Jamar Champ, has become a great father-figure for her 7-year-old daughter.
“My husband takes a lot of that…he is very active with her, he is very hands on. They have their own special bond.”
Masika previously expressed the difficulty of adjusting to the new norm created by Fetty Wap’s imprisonment.
“You know, it is still taking a lot to get used to. It’s the new norm, which I’m not ready to accept that. You know, and it’s just… my daughter, she’s seven. So it really affects her. But we’re working with it, we’re working together, they communicate very often. We’re just trying to figure out the healthiest way to manage this until he comes home.”
When asked about the possibility of taking Khari to visit her father in prison, Masika admitted that the idea had crossed her mind numerous times.
“Only a hundred times. You know, it’s a big difference from taking your daughter to sold-out arenas to see her dad than taking her to an institution like that. But, you know, at the end of the day, that’s still her dad. So we’re gonna make it work, and he’ll be home soon. And y’all make sure to keep streaming his music so I can get my check.”
