North West, the daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, has revealed a personal struggle she has been facing – dyslexia. While on Tik Tok Live with her mom, the 10-year-old addressed her followers, asking, “Guys, I have dyslexia. Do you even know what that is?”
North’s confession took many by surprise, including her mother, Kim Kardashian, who humorously replied, “Northie, you are sure spilling the tea on here.”
North West then cheekily asked her viewers, “Should I drop an album?”
Kim, feeling the need to exercise her parental discretion, replied, “I am going to get off this live right now because you are just
saying way too much. I purposely don’t talk about stuff that you are going through.”
This revelation comes in the midst of a larger debate surrounding North’s presence on social media, particularly TikTok. Kanye West, her father, has been vocal about his concerns regarding his daughter’s exposure on the platform. In a podcast interview in 2022, Kanye stated, “My children ain’t going to be on TikTok without my permission,” the rapper told Hollywood Unlocked’s Jason Lee.
Despite the reservations expressed by her father, Kim Kardashian continues to defend her decision to allow North to use TikTok as a creative outlet.
She said in an interview with time, “She loves making slime videos and doing her little hair tutorials, and I will fight for her to be creative,
Kim emphasized that the platform is restricted to her phone and that North doesn’t have the liberty to scroll and view content or comments, thereby ensuring a controlled and safe environment.
In a separate podcast appearance on Gwyneth Paltrow’s “The goop podcast,” Kim shared her admiration for North’s creative talents and passions.
“The way that she is so creative, the way that she loves to do TikTok and do these videos, and she’ll take my phone and do skincare stuff,” she said. “She loves special effects makeup, so she’ll be doing scars and faces and bullet wounds. She takes classes on it, and that’s what she loves to do so she loves to show it.”
