Marques Houston and wife Miya Houston are expecting their second child together. The couple shared the news on their respective Instagram pages earlier today.
“Here we grow again,” they captioned a video reel of Miya posing during a maternity photoshoot.
The couple’s love story began in 2018 when they crossed paths at a Jehovah’s Witness event. Just five months into their relationship, they got engaged in March 2019, eventually tying the knot on August 24, 2020, in California. Despite initial concerns about their 19-year age difference, the pair are going strong and emphasize they only started dating when Miya turned 18.
“Miya and I didn’t start dating until she was an adult,” Marques shared in 2020. “We fell in love and got engaged in March of 2019. My dad Michael loves her, and the people I am closest to all love her as well. Most importantly we have Jehovahs blessing.”
He continued, “There is so much more to be concerned about in the world, than creating rumors about me. No twists, no turns, no scandals, just true love. There is nothing that can come to light, because there’s no darkness in my life. You wanted the truth. I don’t have anything to hide.”
Their first child, daughter Zara Denise, arrived in December 2021. Although they chose to keep much of their pregnancy journey private, Marques couldn’t contain his joy after Zara’s birth.
He shared his admiration for Miya’s strength and the miracle of childbirth, expressing his love and appreciation for his wife.
“Beauty in rare form. A child is such a blessing from Jehovah. A woman’s body is such an amazing creation to be able to carry a full human,” he wrote alongside a photo of Miya from a pregnancy photo shoot. “I love you Miya, my wife, my rock, my baby mama 🥰 to watch you carry our child was nothing short of a miracle!”
