LL Cool J and his wife Simone Smith recently celebrated the upcoming arrival of their granddaughter with a baby shower. The couple hosted the event in honor of their daughter Italia Smith, who is expecting her third child with husband Lamar Cardinez.
Simone expressed her excitement on Instagram, stating, “Mood: My baby is Having another Baby.”
Adding, “Family and friends came together to celebrate the new life that’s blooming in my daughter Tali’s belly. We thank God for the miracle of life and generational growth. We can’t wait to meet her, love her, support her and witness her greatness. Congratulations Tali & Lamar on growing your/our family!”
Italia Smith also shared her gratitude on Instagram, saying, “All Good Vibes with Family and Friends celebrating our new baby on the way. Thank you for throwing me such a beautiful party Ma.”
Italia is LL and Simone’s eldest daughter and works as a real estate agent. In June 2017, she exchanged vows with her long-time partner Lamar Cardinez in a picturesque ceremony held at the Sparking Pointe Vineyard in Long Island, New York.
LL Cool J and Simone wed in 1995 and celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in 2020. The couple are parents to four children, including Italia. Despite their father’s iconic status, none of LL Cool J’s children have chosen to follow in his musical footsteps.
In a previous interview, he said, “They gotta do what they feel is right for them. I won’t allow anyone to set the bar for them, you know. I put my hands on them and tell them look, you be who you want to be.”
Adding, “Every one of them is different. And it’s about what they want to do. I make it about them.”
