Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian stepped out with their daughters, Olympia and Adira, for Athlos London 2026 on Sept. 18.
The family attended the event at StoneX Stadium in England, where Ohanian’s all-women’s track and field series made its international debut.
While speaking with USA Sports on the red carpet, Ohanian opened up about the one rule he and Williams have for their daughters when it comes to their future careers.
“The one rule in the house is we don’t care what you want to do when you grow up, as long as you do your best at it and you’re doing something useful,” he said.
Olympia, 9, certainly made herself useful that evening. She interviewed several athletes as they arrived for the event, while Williams kept an eye on 3-year-old Adira after she “drew the short straw,” as Ohanian jokingly put it.
“We’ve got her interviewing a few of the ladies who are on their way in,” Ohanian said of his oldest daughter. “So, yeah, I’m on dad duty out here.”
Although Olympia looked right at home with a microphone, journalism apparently isn’t her first career choice.
“I don’t know. She hasn’t mentioned ‘journalist’ yet,” Ohanian said.
For now, fashion appears to be at the top of her list.
“Right now, fashion designer is the No. 1 career path that she’s circling around,” he shared.
Ohanian then joked that reporters’ jobs are “safe, for now,” before adding that Olympia is “coming for journalism and she’s gonna go be great.”
Williams and Ohanian welcomed Olympia in September 2017 and married later that year. Their family grew again in August 2023 with the birth of Adira.
Ohanian founded Athlos in 2024 as an all-women’s track and field series. The London event marked its first international stop.
