Usher has two sons, Usher “Cinco” V (16) and Naviyd Ely (14), with his ex-wife Tameka Foster, as well as a daughter named Sovereign Bo (2) and a son named Sire Castrello (1) with his longtime girlfriend Jenn Goicoechea.

During a recent interview with Tamron Hall, the working dad said that spending time with all of his children takes “dedication.”

“I try my hardest to base my schedule around the time that they’re not in school,” he said. “My youngest, the 1 and 2-year-olds, they’re here [in Las Vegas], while my two boys are now less interested in spending time with me, oddly.”

He jokingly continued, “unless I’m taking them to a concert or paying for something they want.”

In the same interview with the talk show host, Usher revealed that his older sons “don’t care” that he is famous.

While his older sons may not be particularly impressed by their father’s celebrity status, they still enjoy it.

“My boys, they enjoy it. I have one son, Cinco [Usher V] who does not like to be called Usher, who tries to get away from it. Then another son, Naviyd, who really loves entertainment.”

Usher further confirmed during the interview that Naviyd goes beyond merely watching his father’s performances. He actually provides feedback and critiques.

“Not only does he watch my show, but he gives me critiques. He’s like, ‘You missed this thing. you didn’t do this thing.’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah that’s the point. It’s not supposed to be the same every night.”

he added, “If it’s inspiration for him, [the critiques and comments], then great. And if it’s making him feel compelled to be creative, then great.”
