Keke Palmer is giving praise where it’s due! The actress recently took to Instagram to celebrate single parents and to also share how life has been treating her as a new mom.
“I just came on here to say if you are a single parent, pull out your cape,” Palmer told her supporters. “As a matter of fact, clip off your angel’s wings because I don’t know how you do it,” she added.
Keke Palmer and her boyfriend, Darius Jackson, welcomed their son, Leodis Andrellton Jackson, last month. The celebrity mom took to Instagram with the announcement of her little one’s arrival earlier this week.
“Only 48 hrs of being parents,” Keke exclaimed on February 27, 2023. “Darius always made me playlists when we first started dating, ‘Someone’ by El Debarge was a favorite,” she added. “We became each other’s someone and made a someone,” Palmer gushed. “Look at God.”
Keke has expressed excitement about her pregnancy since sharing it with the world during a Saturday Night Live segment last year. The actress, however, was brought to tears in her update on Friday (Mar. 3) when speaking of single parents.
“I know there’s a million and one reasons why someone has become a single parent,” the actress said. “Maybe they lost somebody. Maybe they don’t want to deal with somebody. Maybe it’s a choice. But when it comes to raising a kid, I’ve already learned in these short few days that it takes a village. And sometimes that’s a privilege,” Palmer added.
“I just want anybody out there who is a single parent that’s been doing this – friends of mine, people that I don’t know, family of mine – I’m really in my heart, it brings tears to my eyes,” the actress revealed while becoming emotional. “I am just truly, profoundly impressed.”
Leodis is Darius Jackson and Keke Palmer’s first child together.
