Odell Beckham Jr. is such a doting dad! The NFL player recently spoke with Popsugar exclusively about the many ways fatherhood has changed his life.
“There’s nothing better than being a father,” Beckham told the media source. “Just to be able to look at my son and see the whole world in his eyes,” he added. “I want to make sure that I can be the best man, role model, leader, example that I could possibly be for him.”
Odell Beckham Jr. and his girlfriend, Lauren Wood, welcomed their son, Zydn, in February. The little one arrived four days after Odell and his team, the Los Angeles Rams, won the Super Bowl. There was much to celebrate in the Beckham household despite Odell tearing his ACL during the first half of the big game.
“Truthfully, the injury came and then having a son and having to put my own goals and aspirations aside for a minute to just be there,” the star athlete shared with Popsugar. “I don’t think that this didn’t happen for a reason because usually I’d be in season right now,” he added in reference to still being out on injury.
“I wouldn’t have the same amount of time I have with my son,” Odell said of what he called his blessing in disguise. “I wouldn’t be able to spend these moments and be able to do the things that I’m doing now,” he added. “It really is such a blessing in disguise that I’m able to spend these times with him at a very young age when he’s developing. I can’t think of anything in this world that I love more.”
Many first-time dads cannot get enough of their kids and Odell Beckham is no exception.
“It is beautiful,” the NFL player told Popsugar during his recent interview. “I can’t express enough the feelings of gratitude I have for what God’s blessed me with,” he continued.
“We spend the days just learning him and watching him develop. Whether he’s eating food or fascinated with a remote control, there’s always something new that he gravitates to for the day. The other day it was a hair comb, the next day it’s a little Chapstick. He’s just growing each and every day.”
