The apple is proving to not fall far from the tree as many believe the latest ranking is a sure sign of Kiyan’s plans to attend Syracuse University like his father. Those who have followed Carmelo’s career from its early years understand the significance of Syracuse.

It was at this private university in Onondaga County, New York, that Carmelo helped bring home a championship for his college basketball team nearly twenty years ago. The star athlete went on to make his mark in the NBA, which is what many believe Kiyan is destined to do given his current ranking and skill on the basketball court.

“I feel like I have made big improvements since EYBL,” Kiyan recently shared with 247Sports. “Iโ€™ve been In the gym every day working on my body and my jump shot and Iโ€™m looking forward to the season,” Kiyan said.

“Iโ€™m looking forward to show people what I can do on and off the ball,” the young athlete added. “We got a lot of big talent on (Christ the King) and Iโ€™m looking forward to playing with these guys.”

Several analysts have taken note of Kiyan’s abilities on the basketball court. “Anthony has a nice looking jumper and not surprisingly looks to have picked up some of his fatherโ€™s moves on the wing,” Eric Bossi of 247Sports shared earlier this year. Several other analysts agreed.

Several NBA supporters have compared Carmelo Anthony and Kiyan Anthony to LeBron James and his son, Bronny James. Some have even wondered if Carmelo hopes to play alongside his son in the NBA like LeBron hopes to play alongside his kids in the association.

“No, I do not,” Anthony shared when asked about the possibility of him playing on the same professional team as his son one day. “I think it will be time for me to pass him the torch,” Carmelo told the press. “Iโ€™d rather just pass him the torch when that time comes,” the star athlete reiterated.
