Ice-T and Coco Austin’s daughter, Chanel Nicole, is not a baby anymore! The youngster began school as a first-grade student earlier this week.
“First Day of School,” Chanel told her social media fans on Wednesday (Sep. 7). “I told mommy I know I’m a big girl but I want to stay your baby … Can I be a big girl baby? And she told me no matter what I’m her baby forever,” the youngster shared.
Coco Austin shared her disbelief at how fast the time has gone with her social media fans. “My baby,” the celebrity mom shared with her supporters. “Definitely a bittersweet day,” Coco said.
It seems as if it were just yesterday that Chanel Nicole was making waves as a kindergarten student. The youngster asked her mom to allow her to have acrylic nails for picture day, which did not settle well with some social media followers. A few critics accused Coco Austin of letting her daughter grow up too fast. Others reminded the outsiders that the celebrity mom was free to rear her daughter in whatever manner she deemed acceptable.
The scrutiny that came with last year’s school days was not a thing on Wednesday. Dozens flooded both Chanel Nicole and Coco Austin’s Instagram posts with well wishes for a good day and a successful school year.
“I hope she has a great day at school,” said one of Coco’s fans. “Best of luck,” wrote another supporter. “God bless Chanel.”
Chanel Nicole made her mom a parent for the first time in 2015. Coco and Ice-T recently delved into why they waited nearly ten years to have their daughter.
“I am 20 years older than her,” Ice-T said during an exclusive interview with PEOPLE. “I didn’t have a clock ticking. I said to Coco, ‘When you are ready, let me know,'” he added. “Just because I was finished with the clubbing and the partying doesn’t mean she was,” Ice-T further explained. “It’s like Disneyland. I can’t say, ‘You don’t want to go, all the rides suck.’ You gotta go for the rides.”
Coco Austin decided to fully enjoy her 20s and wait until she was 35 years old to settle down and start a family with her husband. “I’m 100 percent all-in,” the celebrity mom told PEOPLE. “I think motherhood was always my calling,” she explained. ‘I wish I had let it happen earlier, but this is perfect,” Coco shared with the press. “I’m dedicating my whole life to molding this little nugget into a fabulous person.”
