LeBron James has big plans to pass the legacy of basketball on to his sons, Bryce and Bronny. The NBA star is on the cover of the latest issue of Sports Illustrated (SI) with his sons.
“WHOA,” LeBron exclaimed in an Instagram post shedding light on his latest SI cover. “Just kids from Akron,” the star athlete told his supporters. “The Chosen One x The Chosen Sons,” James said.
Dozens of social media fans loved the candid of LeBron with his kids. “I love it,” Gospel singer Todd Dulaney shared. “The legacy continues,” Romeo Travis said.
It is no secret that LeBron James dreams of playing in the NBA alongside his sons. “I feel like I could play for quite a while. So it’s all up to the body, but more importantly, my mind,” LeBron tells Sports Illustrated when addressing the notion of playing basketball professionally well into his 40s to fulfill the hope of playing with his sons. “If my mind can stay sharp and fresh and motivated, then the sky’s not even the limit for me,” he added. “I can go beyond that. But we shall see.”
Bronny James is planning to go to college instead of playing for the NBA right out of high school. “Bronny wants to have a college career,” Bronny’s mom, Savannah James, reveals to Sports Illustrated. “I think it would be really cool for him to start with collegiate basketball, just to start his legacy there,” the celebrity mom says.
Both Bronny and Bryce are on the radars of college scouts. Bronny has already received interest from Memphis, Ohio State, and USC. Meanwhile, Bryce received a scholarship offer from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, earlier this month.
“I don’t give a s— what nobody says,” LeBron tells SI regarding his and his sons’ haters. “Our quest and our journey is not predicated on what everybody said,” he continues. “You going to have five people that love you out of 10. Then you have five people that hate you out of 10. That’s just the way of the land. No matter what you do.”
