Brad Pitt is proud of his and Angelina Jolie’s daughter, Zahara Jolie-Pitt, who will begin her freshman year at Spelman College in the fall. The Bullet Train star recently sat down with Vanity Fair to promote his new film. Brad doted on his daughter during the interview.
“I’m so proud of her,” Pitt shared with the press. “She’s so smart,” the celebrity father said of his daughter. “She’s going to flourish even more at college. It’s an exciting and beautiful time to find her own way and pursue her interests. I’m so proud.”
Angelina Jolie shared her daughter’s decision to attend Spelman College, which is an HBCU in Atlanta, last week. The director shared pictures and video clips from Zahara’s visit to the school on Instagram. “Zahara with her Spelman sisters,” Angelina said of a picture of Zahara taking a candid with Spelman students and alumni. “Congratulations to all new students starting this year,” Angelina added. “A very special place and an honor to have a family member as a new Spelman girl.”
Zahara follows in her mom and dad’s path of advocacy. It was earlier this year that Zahara joined her mom in Washington D.C. to speak in favor of the Violence Against Woman Act’s renewal.
“I want to acknowledge the children who are terrified and suffering at this moment and the many people for whom this legislation comes too late,” Angelina shared in her speech to lawmakers. “The women who have suffered through this system with little or no support, who still carry the pain and trauma of their abuse,” she continued. “The young adults who have survived abuse and have emerged stronger, not because of the child protective system, but despite it. And the women and children who have died, who could have been saved.”
