VANESSA BRYANT JOINS ALEXIS OHANIAN AND OTHERS AT ANGEL CITY FC GAME

"Hell Of A Match"

Angel City may have lost to OL Reign last night, but the women’s soccer team had loads of support from its owners and fans. Alexis Ohanian and his daughter, Alexis Olympia, joined Vanessa Bryant and others in cheering for the team despite their loss.

A special moment of the night for Vanessa came when her late daughter, Gianna “Gigi” Bryant was honored. Bryant was given a jersey with the number two on it as a way of paying tribute to her daughter who died alongside her father, Kobe Bryant, in a helicopter accident two years ago. Gigi and her father were en route to a basketball game when the accident took place. The young athlete’s jersey number was two.

“Let’s go @sydneyleroux,” Vanessa wrote to Sydney Leroux who wears jersey number two for Angel City. Bryant was joined by her daughters – Natalia, Bianka, and Capri – who smiled while taking a picture on the field. Sydney Leroux stood in the middle of the shot. “Love them,” Leroux said of the Bryants. “Two forever,” the soccer player added in reference to her jersey number and its sentiments.

Alexis Ohanian and his daughter were also present at Angel City’s game on Saturday (Jul. 30). Alexis shared a video clip of his daughter cheering from the stands to culminate a night filled with highs and lows.

“Tough loss tonight,” Ohanian admitted. “Hell of a match,” the celebrity father added. “We got up 2-0 and I was getting so hyped that @olympiaohanian told me to stop yelling so loud,” Alexis mused. “Losing 2-3 wasn’t how anyone in our sold-out crowd wanted it to end, but I’m still so grateful for our players and our fans,” Ohanian shared. “Onward!”

Alexis Olympia became one of the youngest team owners last year when she joined others in purchasing the Angel City women’s soccer team. Candace Parker also has a stake in the professional sports team. Angel City is slated to compete against Orlando Pride next Sunday (Aug. 7).
