Percy Jackson’s Leah Sava Jeffries stars in Beast trailer with Idris Elba.

Want to know more about what to expect from this pulse-racing upcoming film?

Well, according to Deadline, Elba plays widowed husband and father, Dr. Nate Samuels, who with his two teenage daughters find themselves hunted by a massive rogue lion intent on proving that the Savannah has but one apex predator. Samuels returns to South Africa, where he first met his wife, on a long-planned trip with their daughters to a game reserve. But what begins as a journey of healing jolts into a fearsome fight for survival when a lion, a survivor of blood-thirsty poachers who now sees all humans as the enemy, begins stalking them.

Baltasar Kormákur directed the upcoming thriller. Will Packer produced Beast with James Lopez, president of Will Packer Productions. The film is written by Ryan Engle (Rampage, Non-Stop) and is executive produced by Jaime Primak Sullivan and Bernard Bellew.

In addition to Jeffries and Elba, the film will also star Sharlto Copley, Iyana Halley, Mel Johnson, Amara Miller, Dorian Hedgewood, Damon Burtley, among others.

Beast isn’t the only exiting project that Jeffries has pending. The talented young actress has Something from Tiffany’s coming to Amazon Prime this year as well. Yet, what Percy Jackson and the Olympians fans are waiting on is Jeffries premiere as Annabeth in the Disney+ series.

Jeffries commented about her role in an Instagram post.

“I’m so excited to take on the role of “ANNABETH ” Let’s go “PERCY JACKSON & THE OLYMPIANS” #disneyplus #percyjacksonandtheolympians @actoraryan @walker.scobell thank you to @rickriordan.”

There has been recent backlash at Jeffries’ casting as the Greek Demi-goddess. However, author, Rick Riordan, of the books, who also is overseeing the long-anticipated upcoming series, couldn’t be happier at their choice.

If you are drawing a blank on your Greek Mythology, and don’t remember just where Annabeth fits into it all, Variety helps to explain.

Annabeth is a true daughter of the Greek goddess, Athena. She is a brilliant strategist with an active and curious mind. After having spent the last five years at Camp Half-Blood, she longs to test her mettle in the human world, of which she barely remembers. She trains Percy to survive the mythological world, and in turn, he helps her connect with her humanity.

Congratulations, Leah. We cannot wait to see all three projects!
