Rihanna has officially confirmed her expectancy of a child. The ‘Umbrella’ singer took to Instagram on Wednesday (Feb. 2) to share the first photo of her growing baby bump.
“How the gang pulled up to Black History Month,” Rihanna captioned underneath a series of pictures that showcased her protruding stomach. The first candid featured Rihanna holding up a jersey to show off her baby bump.
“This baby will be blessed with so much love,” Ashley Darby wrote in response to the Instagram post. “This is unbelievable in a good way,” JT of City Girls said. “Congratulations again,” Monyetta Shaw shared. “I’m so happy for you.”
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky went public with the news of their expectancy earlier this week. The ‘Diamonds’ singer and her boyfriend took a walk through Harlem while showing off Rhanna’s baby bump. Rihanna was ready for the paparazzi to take pictures of her bourgeoning stomach as she rocked a style that showed off her bare bump. Dozens of the singer’s fans took to social media to celebrate Rihanna and her new journey with A$AP Rocky.
“These guys are so amazing together and that baby will be one of the cutest ever,” one fan said upon getting wind of Rihanna’s pregnancy. “I couldn’t care less for another album I am so happy for her,” another supporter shared. “Rihanna has been working since her late teens. She deserves a break, especially one that allows her to have children which has always been a dream of hers. I wish her a healthy pregnancy and delivery.”
Rihanna has expressed a desire to have kids for more than a decade. The recording artist recently told British Vogue that she planned to have kids regardless of whether or not she found the right partner with whom to settle down and build a life.
“Hell, yeah,” the singer declared. “I feel like society makes me want to feel like, ‘Oh, you got it wrong,'” the celebrity continued. “They diminish you as a mother if there’s not a dad in your kids’ lives. But the only thing that matters is happiness, that’s the only healthy relationship between a parent and a child. That’s the only thing that can raise a child truly, is love.”
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are expecting their first child to arrive in the coming months.
