“Have you ever had a Blessing that just keeps on blessing,” Toya Bush-Harris asked her fans. “Avery continues to amaze me,” the celebrity mom exclaimed. “He’s sweet, loving, kind, complimenting, helpful, striving to be an A student, and a take-charge kid who loves God! I thank God for him every day. Happy 10th Birthday love Bug! I pray God continues to give me all you need to be the Mom that continues to help add to your wonderful character … I love you.”

Avery and his brother, Ashton Harris, were the talk of the Internet last year after the youngsters’ mom and dad decided to send them back to school last fall. Many parents chose remote learning over in-person classes because of the coronavirus pandemic and the lack of a vaccine at the time. Some chose to criticize Toya Bush-Harris for sending her kids back to school instead of keeping them home for the semester. Avery and Ashton, however, expressed their desires to learn in person.

“I just wanted to go to school because homeschooling is trash,” Ashton said during a video recording featuring his brother and mom. “In my words. Just in my words,” the youngster continued. “Homeschooling is trash,” Ashton declared. “I wanted to go to school so I could see my friends.”

Many defended Toya Bush-Harris and her husband’s decision to send their kids back to school for in-person classes despite their personal preferences. “Last I checked, Toya and Eugene are the PARENTS of the #HarrisBoys,” one defender said. “Mind y’all business.” Another supporter of Toya and Eugene said, “I don’t care what Toya or anybody else decides to do with their kids. That’s your choice. Educating the children should be the focus.”
