‘MARRIED TO MEDICINE’ STAR TOYA BUSH-HARRIS’ SONS CALL HOMESCHOOLING ‘TRASH’

"Just In My Words"

Toya Bush-Harris’ sons, Ashton and Avery, are not too fond of remote learning. The Married To Medicine star recently conducted a Q&A session with her kids on Instagram Live in which one of the youngsters called “homeschooling” trash.

“I just wanted to go to school because homeschooling is trash,” Ashton said when asked why he wanted to resume learning in a traditional school environment. “In my words. Just in my words,” Ashton said. “Homeschooling is trash. I wanted to go to school so I could see my friends.”

It is important to note that homeschooling and remote learning are not one and the same. Homeschooling is an education option that centers around the child being at home. Remote learning does not have such a structure as it is adapted to temporarily accommodate the educational needs of children while they remain home. Most children have experienced remote learning during the coronavirus pandemic. Some parents, however, are searching for more permanent homeschooling options because of the continued spread of the virus.

Toya Bush-Harris decided to send her children back to school for the fall semester after weighing the pros and cons for her family. “Small Class Sizes are for Us,” the Married To Medicine star said.

Many criticized Toya Bush-Harris for sending her sons back to a traditional classroom setting in the midst of coronavirus cases rising in Georgia. Some continued to scrutinize the celebrity mom even after her Instagram Live video in which her sons expressed satisfaction in attending in-person classes.

“Stop trying to convince the world you made the right choice to send them back because it wasn’t the right choice and you know it,” one critic shared after watching the clip. “You are their protector,” the critic continued. “That’s why you’re posting this IG. Keep those babies home.”
