Syesha Mercado officially has both of her children home. The American Idol alum shared the exciting news with her social media fans earlier this week.

Syesha’s husband was filmed while driving the family home. “Amen’Ra is officially home,” Syesha told her social media fans. “Finally,” Kirsten Corley Bennett wrote in response to seeing the video. “Blessings and love to you and your family,” Chance The Rapper’s wife added. “I am so so so happy to hear this.” Another supporter wrote, “This is the best thing I’ve seen all day! Bless you and your beautiful family.”

Amen’Ra was taken from his parents earlier this year after a trip to the hospital led to a doctor alerting the authorities about “severe malnutrition.” The physician alleged Syesha and her husband refused to cooperate with the process of treatment, which involved a Vitamin B12 shot for Amen’Ra. Mercado revealed she expressed her desire to wait for the advice of her husband before agreeing to a Western medicine alternative.

“All of this has been a nightmare, and we are still living in a nightmare,” Syesha shared with her social media fans. “Right now, we are seeing for the past seven months how much our son has been through,” the singer shared. “We see it in his eyes. We see it in the way he plays. We see it in the way he tries to rest at night.”

Amen’Ra reportedly stayed with an estranged family member while Syesha and her husband fought to regain custody of their son. The couple also battled to regain custody of their newborn who was taken days after her birth.

“Know that this is not over,” Syesha told her social media fans. “A victory to us is being out of the system, to be able to live happy, healthy, and free,” Mercado shared. “[We would like] to not be discriminated against because we choose to live a holistic lifestyle.”
