People cannot get over how big Erykah Badu’s daughters, Puma and Mars, have gotten. The celebrity’s kids recently did a TikTok collaboration together. Fans were taken by surprise upon seeing Puma and Mars looking so grown up.
“Wow,” Melanie Fiona said in reference to the video of Puma and Mars singing together. “[Your] babies [are] growing up,” Maimouna Youssef commented.
Mars is Erykah Badu’s youngest daughter and only child with rapper Jay Electronica. Puma is Badu’s daughter with The D.O.C. Some still envision Mars as a little girl, which is why it is hard to believe the youngster turned 13-years-old this year. Puma celebrated her seventeenth birthday last month and continues to build her TikTok channel with incredible covers of popular songs.
It was just a few weeks ago that Puma took on her mom’s song in a social media post that gave some Erykah Badu fans nostalgia. “My favorite song by Ms. Badu,” one fan commented after hearing Puma sing a snippet of the song. “Beautiful,” another fan shared after hearing a portion of the selection.
Some have been critical of Erykah Badu’s life choices, which include her decision to refrain from marrying. The veteran recording artist, however, is not afraid to tap into her creativity even if such a powerful connection to innovativeness subjects her to scrutiny.
“My mom and grandmother were focused more on working and providing the basic needs,” Badu said during a recent interview with The Guardian. “Where I have the advantage [is that] my job is to create, my whole mindset is creation whether it’s food or fashion or education or art,” the celebrity shared.
“I know I don’t have the most popular opinion sometimes,” Erykah admitted. “I don’t like to make people feel uncomfortable or bad,” Badu explained. “But no. I would never take back a message of love.”
