CARDI B SAYS SHE FELT ‘OUT OF PLACE’ PERFORMING NUDE WHILE PREGNANT IN NORMANI MUSIC VIDEO

"My Body Wasn't Feeling Sexy"

Cardi B’s recent collaboration with Normani initially came with a bit of reservation from the ‘Up’ rapper. Cardi tells Cosmopolitan that she considered covering up for the music video because of her pregnancy.

“I’ve done so much nudeness in my videos before,” the celebrity shares. “That was the only thing that made sense around that time because no clothes were fitting me nicely,” Cardi admits. “I was around five and a half months pregnant, going into six months pregnant, so I couldn’t wear a bustier or waist trainer.”

Sensuality usually comes second nature to Cardi B. The ‘WAP’ rapper’s pregnancy, however, made it challenging for Cardi to get into the mood.

“I felt so out of place trying to be sexy and rapping about d—s and c—s,” Cardi says of her latest collaboration with Normani. “My body wasn’t feeling sexy and it was the first time in public where I was butt naked with a big a** belly,” the ‘Money’ rapper shares. “But Normani’s a natural dancer, so she was like, ‘Yeah, Cardi go like this, POW!'”

Normani’s lively spirit inspired Cardi to push the limits beyond what she was feeling in the moment. “Normani is just such a great person and I cannot wait for the world to see more of her,” Cardi B tells Cosmopolitan. “She’s one of those nice girls,” the ‘Up’ rapper adds. “I don’t think she got any mean girl-ness in her body,” Cardi continues. “She’s delicate and is one of those people you want the success for.”

Cardi B has been in full celebration mode as Pop Culture commemorates the one-year anniversary of ‘WAP.’ The recording artist received major backlash from conservatives who attempted to garner support by accusing Cardi B of poisoning their children’s minds with her lyrics. Cardi pushed back on the criticism by reminding her friends and enemies that she makes music for adults and not children.

Cardi B and her husband, Offset, are expecting their second child to arrive in the coming weeks. The little one will join the couple’s daughter, Kulture Cephus, at home.
