Asia was wearing a different gown in the latest set of pictures. The youngster gave the cameras all the right poses for a fierce presentation. “Prom #2,” Lela told her social media fans. “My pretty girl,” the actress said.

Vanessa Bell Calloway was one of many to comment on Asia’s latest prom pictures. “My beautiful goddaughter,” Calloway wrote online. “What an honor it’s been to be her godmother and watch her grow,” the actress added. “Love you boo-boo.” Keisha Epps wrote, “She is a beauty.”

Some may remember Asia Rochon Fuqua’s first set of prom pictures. The youngster wore her mom’s iconic red dress from the Waiting To Exhale premiere night. “Yes, I saved the dress,” Lela Rochon told her social media fans. “[I] wasn’t sure why but now I know,” the actress shared.

Waiting To Exhale continues to be a film from which modern projects borrow. Lela’s role as the career woman, Robin, who is searching for the right man to give her everything she deserves resonates with women in the present day.

“I fought so hard for [the role] because I felt very right for Robin, and the fact that Whitney was already cast was huge to me,” Rochon shared during a recent interview. “It was my first time in a lead role,” the actress shared.

Rochon starred alongside Angela Bassett, Loretta Devine, and the late Whitney Houston in the drama based on Terry McMillan’s book. “I fell in love with the drama,” Bassett shared during an interview with ZORA. “I read the book when it first came out,” Loretta Devine said. “Everybody in Hollywood was auditioning for [the movie]. It was an exciting time,” the veteran actress added.

There was talk of a Waiting To Exhale remake a few years back. Whitney Houston said at the time that she would be on board for a revival of the film. The ‘I Will Always Love You’ singer passed away in 2012. You can stream Waiting To Exhale on YouTube and other major platforms.
