Singer Amerie and her husband, Lenny Nicholson, celebrated their son’s third birthday earlier this week. River Rowe Charles L. Nicholson enjoyed a special day of cake with family and friends.
“May 15, 2021,” Amerie shared online. “So much gratitude to have my son, my blessing, my shining star, my lil mochi, my butter-biscuit baby,” the celebrity mom shared. “‘Goodbye 2, Hello 3!’ as River likes to say,” Amerie wrote online.
“We celebrated with full yet weighted hearts yesterday because there is so much pain and loss in the world,” the recording artist admitted. “So this weekend we held our son tighter and prayed for more love, more love, more love.”
Amerie welcomed her son in 2018. The celebrity mom spoke about her life after becoming a mom during an interview with VH1 months after she gave birth.
“[When you become a mom] your time is more limited,” Amerie admitted. “I want to spend as much time as I can with my son, and I haven’t hired any help yet,” the celebrity mom said. “So that means if I spend any time [away from him] it’s because it’s really important to me. Things get cut away and you see the difference between what’s necessary and what’s not.”
Amerie further explained, “Being a mom has also made me more empathetic. Every person I see walking down the street, no matter their age, I see them as someone’s baby. Someone nurtured and cared for them and (hopefully) put all their love into them. If everyone could see the love for their child in someone else, the world would be better.”
River is Amerie and Lenny Nicholson’s only child together. The celebrity couple celebrates ten years of marriage this year.
