Rapper, model, actress Journey Christine stars in new Netflix Series, The Upshaws, releasing May 12tth. According to her official website,
Journey Christine began her acting career at the age of 13-months-old, booking her first national commercial for Kohl’s department store. She continued to wow casting directors and booked several other commercials afterwards. Television audiences have seen her beautiful face prominently featured in commercials for Honda, Walmart, Kohl’s, Home Depot and a handful of other top companies.
In terms of modeling, Journey booked her first print job for Vans shoes at 1-years-old. From then on, she has worked with various top brands, from Disney to Tom Ford. In 2019, She walked in 3 fashion shows, including Los Angeles Spring Summer Fashion Week.
This truly multi-talented young rising star has a passion for performing arts, modeling, dance and music. So just what does Journey Christine do when she’s not working? Well, the seven-year-old enjoys swimming, traveling, and playing football with her brothers.
Christine will join seasoned veterans on screen in the highly anticipated Netflix show. The rising star will portray funny man Mike Epps’ youngest daughter, Maya. She will also get to share the screen with the amazing Kim Fields, comedian actress Wanda Sykes, Gabrielle Dennis, Page Kennedy, Diamond Lyons, Khali Daniya-Renee Spraggins, and Jermelle Simon.
According to Deadline, The Upshaws centers on a working-class African American family in Indiana struggling to make it work and make it right without any blueprints. Sykes, Epps and Regina Hicks will executive produce alongside Niles Kirchner, Dan Spilo (Sunnyside) and Page Hurwitz (Wanda Sykes: Not Normal).
