ISAIAH RUSSELL-BAILEY SPEAKS OUT ABOUT HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH ‘BIOLOGICAL FATHER’ CHINGY

Isaiah Russell-Bailey is speaking out about his relationship with his biological father, Chingy, after the rapper made public comments about their family dynamic.

The 19-year-old Family Reunion star took to Instagram Stories to share his side of the story.

“I’ve sat with this for a few days, so I could make sure my thoughts were clear and my words reflected how I truly feel,” Isaiah began.

Last week, Chingy appeared on The Jason Lee Show and revealed that Isaiah is his youngest son.

Following the interview, Isaiah posted a tribute to his mother, actress and choreographer Brittany Perry-Russell, writing, “Everything I am, I owe to the woman who has always been there. Grateful for you always #Mom.”

The post sparked questions about Chingy’s involvement in his son’s life. In responses to commenters, the rapper suggested manipulation had played a role in their relationship and later told Hollywood Unlocked, “Isaiah knows the relationship he and I have. He knows the love I have for him.”

Isaiah, however, says that version of their relationship does not reflect his experience.

“I’ve stayed quiet about my relationship with my father because I’ve never felt the need to share that aspect of my life publicly. But after seeing his comments, I feel compelled to speak for myself.”

He continued, “What my biological father shared is not an accurate representation of our relationship. Saying something publicly does not make it true. You cannot rewrite years of absence, neglect, or lack of involvement with a few paragraphs about love, support, and being there for your child.”

The actor also pushed back against claims involving his mother.

“And to be clear, the claims about my mother are completely false. She did not manipulate me into disliking my father. A parent doesn’t have to turn a child against someone who was already absent. My feelings are my own, and they come from my own experiences.”

Isaiah also said his career should not be brought into the dispute. He said he and his mother made the sacrifices and put in the work behind his success.

He also accused Chingy of presenting a version of their relationship that does not match his experience.

“What bothers me is the blatant attempt to present an image to the public that doesn’t match reality, while implying that I somehow share that version of our relationship.

“I. DO. NOT.”

Russell-Bailey ended his statement by saying he will not share every private detail of their relationship online, but he also will not allow anyone else to speak for him.

“I know the truth, and the people who were actually there know it too. I’ve said what I needed to say, and I won’t be speaking on this again.”
