Chrissy Teigen recently took to Instagram to (accidentally) reveal that her third child will be a boy.
In a video on her Instagram Stories, Teigen spoke about the struggles and complications she has been experiencing during her “high-risk” pregnancy with her third baby and mistakenly let the sex of her unborn child slip, unwittingly referring to the baby as “he.”
“It’s so weird because the baby’s really really healthy, and he’s big. He’s probably- oops!” said Teigen, realizing her mistake and covering her mouth. Teigen took her slip-up in stride, posting it on Twitter and even captioning the post in the video, “Hahahahaha might as well tell you.”
Chrissy Teigen already has two children with her husband, singer John Legend: 4-year-old Luna and 2-year-old Miles Stephens. Teigen’s third pregnancy took her and Legend by surprise, considering Teigen’s past fertility issues and pregnancy complications, which she spoke about in the video.
“My placenta sucks. It’s always been kind of the bad part of my pregnancies with Luna. With Miles, it just stopped feeding him. It stopped taking care of him,” explained Teigen. “I was stealing all his food because I was getting huge but he wasn’t getting big at all, so he had to come out early and Luna had to come out early. I was induced both times.”
Chrissy Teigen says that despite her placenta being “super weak,” her unborn boy is “growing beautifully” and is healthy. “Everything’s good. I’m feeling really good, but my placenta’s really, really weak and it’s causing me to really bleed a lot. So basically, it’s just pretty high risk,” says Teigen. “This poor thing has been through so much already. We just have to get my placenta healthy again, and that means not moving so I’m on complete and total ‘don’t get out except to pee-pee’ bed rest.”
