Chrissy Teigen, the wife of singer John Legend, recently announced that she was pregnant with their third child. Many fans were shocked by the sudden announcement, but no one was more surprised than John Legend and Chrissy Teigen were.
In a recent interview on TODAY, John Legend explained how taken aback they were about Chrissy’s pregnancy. “It was a surprise, a little quarantine surprise, I guess you could say,” said Legend. “But we’re very excited, and we’re grateful for all the well-wishes we’ve gotten from people all around the world. Thank you so much.”
Teigen recently spoke on Twitter about her past fertility issues and the fact that she underwent a breast implant removal surgery before she found out about her pregnancy.
“I did the routine pregnancy test you do before surgery. It said negative. It was not negative,” said Teigen. “A few weeks after surgery, I took a test. And for many years now, I’ve taken pregnancy tests almost every month, praying to see a positive one day. Just wishful thinking. I never had a positive before. I was scared s–tless. Was pretty positive you shouldn’t get your boobs out while pregnant? Pretty sure,” she recalled.

“We prayed to the boob surgery gods that everything would be okay. Went to every appointment terrified. Even without the surgery, I didn’t think I could get pregnant naturally anyway,” she continued. “So the odds just felt…bad. But what they say so often can be true. When you give up on trying, life has a way of surprising you.”
John Legend and Chrissy Teigen married in 2013 and they already have two kids, 4-year-old Luna and 2-year-old Miles Stephens, who were both born via in-vitro fertilization. Now John and Chrissy are looking forward to giving them another sibling. As to how her children reacted to her pregnancy, Chrissy tweeted: “Luna is very, very excited. Miles, not so much. Jealous!”
