Aoki Lee Simmons is taking full advantage of the art of mindfulness. Kimora Lee Simmons’ daughter recently took to Instagram to celebrate meditation.
“The universe and I? Yeah, we talk,” Aoki shared. “Mindfulness is an underrated skill,” the young adult continued. “Yes, it’s peaceful [and] graceful. But also practical.”
Aoki went on to boldly imagine a society in which mindfulness was placed at the forefront of things. “Where might our society go if the next generation knew only to stop and think,” Kimora Lee Simmons’ daughter asked. “What can we do when we can handle our emotions intelligently,” the young adult further questioned.
“What can we become with mastery of the self? It is a graceful and violent word, control, and it can only come through release of the right things: stillness at the right times and speed when called upon.”
Fans can always count on Aoki Lee Simmons to present a different perspective on life. It was just a few weeks ago that Kimora Lee Simmons’ daughter called out her non-black friends who chose to remain silent after the tragic death of George Floyd.
“I cannot begin to unpack your silence,” Aoki wrote in an open letter. “I don’t expect you to be a mind reader. You’ve been told explicitly in black and white and subtweet. You know the brutal message I have received. If black people need you, I need you,” the young adult said.
