KANDI BURRUSS TALKS SURROGACY AND MORE WITH TAMRON HALL

"A Lot Of People Don't Really Have The Information"

Kandi Burruss recalls how her family responded to the news of her having another child by way of a surrogate. Some of the Real Housewives of Atlanta star’s loved ones thought that she chose a surrogate for vain reasons. Other family members wondered how Kandi would bond with the new baby, given the fact that another woman would carry and birth her child.

“A lot of people don’t really have the information, so they don’t really know,” Kandi tells Tamron Hall. “People are like, ‘Well, why do you want to do that?’ And then, they automatically think it’s a vain decision; that you’re just doing it because you don’t want to [carry the baby].”

Kandi Burruss got honest about how having a baby by way of a surrogate made her feel during an interview with Busy Phillips last year. The RHOA star credited Andy Cohen for helping her deal with her uncertainties.

“I had made a comment. I said something like, ‘I guess I’m gonna have a baby mama,'” Kandi told Busy. “And [Andy] said to me, ‘Don’t you ever say that because you are the mother. And to say she’s your baby’s mom is taking away from you.’ It made me feel better.”

Kandi Burruss welcomed her daughter, Blaze Tucker, last November. The RHOA star shared candids of her growing family during the Christmas season.

“Overall, I just think people have to be a little bit more sensitive when that subject [of surrogacy] comes up,” Kandi tells Tamron. Stay tuned for more Real Housewives of Atlanta baby news!
