“The judge denied Samantha Smith‘s request to be appointed Emani Asghedom‘s temporary guardian.

The ruling stated, ‘No urgency demonstrated for granting this relief prior to hearing on May 14th.’

The judge also added that Emani’s mother, Tanisha, must be given notice of the hearing.”

Samantha Smith filed a petition for temporary custody of Emani a few days ago, which was nearly one month after Nipsey Hussle’s untimely passing. Samantha revealed that she has “always been a presence in Emani’s life and along with the rest of Emani’s paternal family has assisted in her care.”

Nipsey reportedly had primary custody of Emani, which means that the 10-year-old was living with her father at the time of his death. Samantha choosing to file for temporary custody of Emani further fueled rumors of the child’s mother, Tanisha Asghedom, not getting along with the late rapper’s family.

Many wondered why Lauren London, Nipsey Hussle’s long-time girlfriend, was onstage at the ‘Victory Lap’ rapper’s funeral all while Tanisha was absent from the stage. Some assumed that Emani’s mother was not invited onstage per the request of Nipsey’s family.

Regardless of the behind-the-scenes details, it appears that Emani Asghedom will be staying with her mother for the time being. Stay tuned for more Nipsey Hussle kids news!
