Rodney Peete Sr. and Holly Robinson Peete held their 19th Annual DesignCare charity event at good friends Sugar Ray Leonard and wife Bernadette’s home in Pacific Palisades this past Saturday. Several celebrities came out to show support for Holly and Rodney in their endeavors to raise funds for and awareness about autism research.
“I could NEVER say thank you enough to this beautiful couple and their family for allowing us to take over their home and support our @hollyrodfdn missions that are so near and dear to us,” Holly wrote online after Saturday’s event. “@bernleonard18 and @sugarrayleonard have been to virtually all 19 #DesignCare events including the very first one AND have HOSTED FIVE at their home. They have the hugest most compassionate hearts ever! What a beautiful night! There would be no #Hollyrod without you guys.”

Holly and Rodney’s foundation, the HollyRod Foundation, was founded nearly twenty years ago in an effort to shed light on the struggles that children living with autism face. The charity also gives support to parents of kids adjusting to life with the disorder by providing curriculum and other means of support.
Sugar Ray Leonard has a charity that caters to families as well called The Sugar Ray Leonard Foundation, which spread awareness about obesity and diabetes. As the former boxer’s charity site explains,
“The Leonard’s have always been devoted to the community and to helping those in need. Leonard also participates in and speaks on a variety of national and international causes benefiting children’s charities. He connects with audiences through the sport of boxing, fitness, and philanthropy.”
Sugar Ray Leonard has four children as do Holly Robinson Peete and Rodney Peete Sr. Learn more about the HollyRod Foundation here!
