Ever since the ending of Disney’s 2015 Descendants, fans have been on pins and needles awaiting the highly anticipated sequel, due out in 2017!
In Descendants 2, Mal finds herself stressed with the pressures of trying to be perfect, so she returns to the Isle of the Lost only to find that her archenemy Uma, the daughter of Ursela, played by China Anne McClain, has taken her spot as the island’s top bad girl. Still harboring hash feelings because she wasn’t selected to attend Auradon Prep, Uma and her band of pirate villains unleash a special kind of havoc on the preppy side of the barrier.
If the name China Anne McClain doesn’t ring any bells, she is no stranger to the big or small screens. McClain has played in A.N.T. Farm as Chyna Parkes, House of Payne as Jazmine Payne, and Daddy’s Little Girls as China just to name a few.
Kenny Ortega, director of the Disney hit, is excited to introduce a pirate element to the sequel. “It seemed natural for a pirate gang including the offspring of Ursula, Captain Hook and Gaston to emerge as we take audiences deeper into the Descendants world,” he comments in an article with Channel Guide Magazine.
Referencing the above picture, Ortega states, “She’s [Uma] flanked here by her devoted henchmen, Harry, Captain Hook’s son, her right-hand man who is always ready for action, and the handsome yet thick-headed Gil, Gaston’s son.”
I don’t know about you, but we cannot wait to see this sequel!
