Oprah took a pause for the cause of posing with members of the Amazing Grace Conservatory during the 2016 ESSENCE Black Women In Hollywood awards luncheon on Thursday. The entrepreneur embraced the girls who were beyond thrilled to meet her.
Krista Campbell, daughter of Erica Campbell, was among those from the Conservatory to attend the luncheon and take pictures with Oprah. The youngster was all smiles while snapping formal and informal photos with the star businesswoman. Erica later told fans that she thought her daughter “had more fun than me.”
The ‘Little More Jesus’ singer has been one of several celebrities to comment on the ‘Black Girl Magic’ movement that is growing by leaps and bounds. “It always includes confidence,” she said during the ESSENCE luncheon. “It always includes the strength that you have to go shine in the face of adversity and the face of this industry that tells you that you’re not beautiful and you’re lacking something. Understanding who you are and what you have: That’s Black girl magic.”
