TMZ reports,

“Sources on the set of Halle Berry’s new TV show “Extant” … tell TMZ 15-year-old Malia Obama got very little special treatment during her week-long stint as a production assistant.

We’re told Malia spent most of her day going on runs for coffee and drinks for the cast … like every other no-name peon. She also helped the crew by blocking people from walking through scenes during shooting.”

Still in all, fetching coffee for celebrities and catching scenes of an upcoming television series that stars Halle Berry isn’t a bad way to get your feet wet in the working world.

The Wrap was the first news source to learn of Malia’s new gig as a production assistant in Hollywood. The website reported on her being spotted onset and later confirmed that Malia was indeed an employee.

First Lady Michelle Obama has told media that she and her husband want their daughters to have a sense of normalcy. “They really want normalcy, and the White House isn’t normal,” said the First Lady. “One of the things that I’ve told my staff, I’ve told the Secret Service, is that when we’re out of here, in a few years, they’ve got to be able to function as normal people.”

Malia will celebrate her sixteenth birthday on July 4, 2014. The teen is expected to begin driving lessons shortly thereafter.
