NBA star Dejounte Murray and model Jania Meshell have welcomed their second child together, a baby boy.
Jania shared glimpses of their son’s arrival on Instagram Stories on Friday, beginning with a video documenting her hospital stay. The footage showed her hospital room, Jania resting in bed and her feet, which she said were swollen.
“Legs and feet so swollen,” she wrote over the video, which ended with her smiling as she held her newborn.
In another clip, the little one rested against her chest, wrapped in a hospital blanket. She added three blue heart emojis to the post.
Dejounte was right there with her. Jania posted a snapshot of the New Orleans Pelicans guard resting beneath a blanket in the hospital room, with baby boy balloons visible nearby.
“My man is tired,” she captioned the picture.
Murray missed the Pelicans’ game against the Sacramento Kings on Thursday, October 29, to celebrate his son’s arrival. Head coach Jamahl Mosley confirmed that the birth was the reason for his absence.
The couple first announced they were expecting another child in July, when Jania shared a maternity photo shoot with the caption, “Breaking News: Baby Murray is coming soon.”
Dejounte later revealed they were expecting a boy in the comments.
Earlier this month, Jania shared another set of maternity photos featuring her and Dejounte, alongside a message to their unborn son.
“You will never have to wonder how deeply you are loved, my son. It started long before your first breath,” she wrote.
The newborn joins the couple’s daughter, Icelynn Mercedes Murray, whom they welcomed on April 9, 2023.
Jania is also mom to son Kacey, whom she shares with rapper NBA YoungBoy, while Dejounte has an older daughter, Riley, from a previous relationship.
