Tyga is seeking sole custody of his 10-year-old son, King, whom he shares with TV personality Blac Chyna, also known as Angela White.
According to court documents obtained by the Blast, the rapper wants to retain full custody of King while allowing Chyna to have reasonable visitation rights. Furthermore, he wishes to establish clear guidelines for traveling with their child, requiring “the other parent or party, or a court order, to take the children out of the state of California.”
Tyga’s latest move comes as a response to legal actions initiated by Blac Chyna in August. In her legal filings, Chyna sought joint custody and child support for King. However, the situation took an unexpected turn when, on October 2nd, Chyna submitted a declaration containing serious allegations against Tyga’s custodial behavior.
In her declaration, she claimed that Tyga has not adhered to the agreed-upon custody schedule established after their 2014 split. She cited instances where he unilaterally decided to keep King for extended periods without notifying her.
“For example, in January of 2021, Respondent kept King for two of my consecutive weekends and did not communicate with me about his unilateral decision,” White alleged in the declaration.
“It happened again the following month,” Chyna continued. “I went weeks without seeing our son and I had no idea where he was. I felt powerless as I did not have Court Orders. While I considered judicial intervention, I knew that the media would not be kind and King would be directly harmed by his Father and I litigating in Court. I continued to keep quiet.”
Chyna asserts that Tyga introduced a new custody schedule in early 2022, which substantially reduced her time with King and also limited King’s time with his half-sister, Dream (Chyna shares Dream, 6, with ex-fiancé Rob Kardashian.)
A court hearing is scheduled for November to address the ongoing custody and visitation issues at hand.
