Joseline Hernandez’s daughter, Bonnie Bella, is opening up about her relationship with her biological father, Stevie J.
During a recent conversation with her mom, the 9-year-old was asked whether she considers Stevie a good father.
“Yes and no,” Bonnie replied.
When Joseline asked why, Bonnie explained that she appreciates that her dad wants to see and talk to her, but wishes he were more present in her life.
“Yes, because he kind of wants to see me, talks to me sometimes,” she said. “No is because he, like I said, he kind of lies. I think he lies about meetings and just, like, goes out and then talks. And he doesn’t give us any money.”
Joseline then jumped into the conversation, claiming that Stevie has not financially supported their daughter.
“That is the problem. He don’t give us a dollar,” she said. “Your school is so expensive. He doesn’t even have the decency to call and say, ‘Hey, do y’all need some money over there?’ Like, your dad hasn’t gave me a dollar since you’ve been born.”
Bonnie went on to compare her relationship with Stevie to the one she has with Joseline’s husband, Balistic Beats, whom she calls “Papi.”
“The difference between my dad and my papi is, well, my papi kind of, like… like, he lives with me, so, you know, it’s different,” Bonnie said. “He’s been watching me since I was three months, six months, or whatever.”
She continued, “And the difference between my dad is because he doesn’t really come more than he’s supposed to. But he kind of sees me and just wants, I want him to see me more.”
When Joseline asked whether she had ever told Stevie how she feels, Bonnie said she had not.
“I really don’t, because, like, I don’t like to tell him stuff about him, about himself, because I think he knows already,” she explained. “I bet people tell him a lot.”
Joseline and Stevie welcomed Bonnie Bella in December 2016 and have had a contentious co-parenting relationship over the years.
Balistic, meanwhile, has helped raise Bonnie since she was a baby. Joseline recently praised her husband for the role he has played in her daughter’s life.
“A Father is someone who has been there from the very beginning! Loving her nurturing her supporting her teaching her!” she wrote on Instagram. “Not only he is the best #father to Bonnie’Bella but he has made her #mother A better and more understanding woman and Mother!”
Joseline and Balistic are currently expecting their first child together. Bonnie, who turns 10 in December, will become a big sister when the couple welcomes their baby.
