Surprise! Michael Strahan is a dad again after welcoming his fifth child with girlfriend Kayla Quick.
The “Good Morning America” co-anchor and his longtime girlfriend reportedly welcomed a baby girl earlier this year, according to TMZ. The newborn is the couple’s first child together.
Strahan is already dad to four adult children from his previous marriages. He shares daughter Tanita, 34, and son Michael Jr., 31, with his first wife, Wanda Hutchins. The former NFL star later welcomed twin daughters Isabella and Sophia, now 21, with his second wife, Jean Muggli.
The baby girl also makes Strahan both a new dad and a grandfather. His oldest daughter, Tanita, welcomed her first child, a son named Onyx, in September 2024.
The 54-year-old has been especially open about fatherhood in recent years as his family supported Isabella through her battle with medulloblastoma, a malignant brain tumor.
Isabella was diagnosed in 2023 after experiencing headaches, nausea and difficulty walking straight. She underwent emergency surgery to remove the tumor, followed by radiation and chemotherapy.
She completed chemotherapy in 2024 and later shared that her scans showed no evidence of cancer. Isabella has since returned to college at the University of Southern California, though she continues to undergo follow-up scans.
Strahan spoke about the experience earlier this year during an appearance on Keke Palmer’s “Baby, This Is Keke Palmer” podcast and admitted that watching his daughter face cancer left him in an unfamiliar position as a parent.
“I can’t fix this,” he recalled thinking at the time.
Even with Isabella doing well and back at school, Strahan said the worry has not completely disappeared.
“Even now, she’s—thank God—cancer free. Back at school, crushing it, doing well, back to her 21-year-old life … You still worry,” he said.
Strahan and Quick have been linked since 2015 and have kept much of their relationship private. Quick is an entrepreneur and co-founder of FIZZNESS, a wellness company.
Although the pair rarely speak publicly about their relationship, Quick has joined her boyfriend and his family for several major occasions. She attended his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in 2023 and was also present for Isabella’s high school graduation that year.
