PREGNANT RIHANNA SHUTS DOWN THE 2023 MET GALA IN ALL WHITE

Rihanna made a striking appearance at the 2023 Met Gala, where she paid tribute to the late fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld. The pregnant music superstar, who was accompanied by her boyfriend A$AP Rocky, turned heads in an ensemble designed by Valentino.

According to Page Six, Rihanna had a secret fitting for her gala look in the wee hours of Saturday morning at 3 a.m. The fitting involved $25 million in jewels from Cartier, making her outfit one of the most expensive ever worn to the Met Gala.

The day before the Met Gala, the singer was spotted wearing a black and white outfit that seemed to be a teaser for the event. According to Vogue, her ensemble included pieces from Chanel’s fall 1994 collection, which was designed by Lagerfeld himself.

Rihanna shared pictures of her outfit on social media, captioning them with the words “Not even Monday,” which suggested that she would be attending the MET Gala on Monday.

This year’s Met Gala was particularly significant as it paid tribute to Karl Lagerfeld’s legacy. The event’s theme, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” showcased 150 of his most notable outfits from his time with various brands like Balmain, Patou, Chloé, Fendi, Chanel, and his eponymous label.

Lagerfeld’s contributions to the fashion industry were immense, with his iconic designs, inventive use of materials, and sharp wit. His passing in February 2019 left a void in the industry, but his legacy continues to influence and shape the industry to this day.

Rihanna’s appearance at the Met Gala was significant, especially since it was her first time attending since 2021 when she wore a Balenciaga gown and beanie. In 2018, she wore a beaded mini-dress, cape, and miter by John Galliano.

The Grammy winner and her beau are expecting their second child together soon. The couple welcomed their first child, a son, in May 2022.
