Kehlani had a very special guest join her onstage during her recent tour stop in Los Angeles.
The singer’s 7-year-old daughter, Adeya Nomi, took the stage during the Sept. 24 show at Intuit Dome in Inglewood. Together, the duo performed Kehlani’s hit song “Folded” for the crowd.
On Tuesday, the proud mom shared photos of the sweet moment on Instagram, along with a special message to Adeya. In the images, the youngster wears a white dress with flowers tucked into her hair and headphones over her ears as she performs.
“My joy, an endless supply of love,” she began. “Whatever you dream, it’s my honor to see it through. Whatever wish you have it’s my honor to make reality.”
She continued, “Following you wherever you plant your feet; because I trust you know exactly where you’re going, super nova.”
Kehlani went on to celebrate both Adeya’s everyday interests and her confidence onstage.
“I am so proud of you whether its the way you save every tiny bug in the garden, or performing in front of an arena of people,” she wrote. “You’re brave, bright, brilliant & my biggest hero.”
She closed the tribute with a simple message: “Adeya Nomi, there is only one you.”
Adeya has become a familiar presence onstage. Her Inglewood appearance marked the second night in a row that she performed “Folded” with Kehlani after joining her for the song in San Diego the night before.
She previously joined the singer during the Blue Water Road Trip tour in 2022 and the Crash World Tour in 2024.
Last year, Adeya put Kehlani in the hot seat for Billboard Family and asked why she chose to release “Folded.”
“I just really thought it was a really cool way to come back into music after I hadn’t put out music for a while, and I was pretty confident about it. I thought it was a good song,” she said.
She then asked her daughter, “Do you think it’s a good song? Do you like it? As long as you like it, I love it.”
Earlier this month, Kehlani spoke about how becoming a mother has kept her motivated. Before Adeya was born, there were times when she considered walking away from music completely.
“Sometimes my only thought is I’ve got to keep going and find new inspiration: not just in taking care of her but so she can see that no outside forces should be able to stop her dreams,” Kehlani said.
