Miguel and Margaret Zhang are expecting their second child together.
Zhang debuted her baby bump on Sunday, Aug. 23, as she joined Miguel at the HollyShorts Film Festival in Los Angeles.
The singer was back at HollyShorts after attending the festival’s opening night on Aug. 13, where he received the Music Visionary Award. This time, Miguel was joined by Zhang for a special screening of Papá Melissa, a documentary they both executive produced.
Ahead of the screening, the couple joined director Sophia Stieglitz and producers Constanza Castro and Doménica Castro for a conversation about the film, which follows Melissa and her family as they navigate identity, parenthood, love and transformation.
Zhang executive produced Papá Melissa through Mì-Mì Labs, the independent storytelling incubator she founded, while Miguel served as an executive producer through his company, S1C.
Baby No. 2 comes nearly two years after the couple quietly welcomed their son, whom they affectionately call Angelito, in September 2024.
Miguel and Zhang kept their son’s birth private for nearly a year. They finally introduced him to the world while celebrating his first birthday in September 2025.
“Our baby turned 1 today !!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANGELITO !!! We love you so much ! So proud and honored that you chose us to be your parents,” the pair wrote in a joint Instagram post. “Papá wrote you a song — hope it always reminds you of how loved you are.”
Miguel later shared one of his most memorable moments from Angelito’s birth during an interview with Sway. He recalled carrying his newborn son to be weighed and singing Curtis Mayfield’s “The Makings of You,” a song he had sung to him while Zhang was pregnant.
“His eyes open right up, and it was such a powerful— he recognized me, and we, it just, he completely stopped crying, and he just relaxed,” Miguel recalled. “He just relaxed in my hands.”
The singer said becoming a dad has also changed the way he sees the world.
“Obviously your priorities change, but the way that I believe and hope in the world is a way that I couldn’t have expected or imagined,” he said. “And the way that I get behind what I say and what I do is different now. Because it’s on his behalf.”
Miguel and Zhang have yet to share further details about baby No. 2, including the baby’s sex or due date.
