The 44-year-old mother posted an announcement about the upcoming podcast on social media starting off her post, “We are super proud of the new story telling kids’ podcast my husband and I created called “Adventures of Curiosity Cove”. Not only is it filled with original stories, adventures and valuable lessons for kids, it hopefully will give parents a moment breathe as well. We always want to provide peace to make everyday more joyful.”
“You can subscribe now! Link in bio. September 9th is the official podcast release! Tag your friends and fam w/littles! #AdventuresofCuriosityCove #EllatheCurious #kids #podcast #mom,” she concluded.
In an exclusive interview with People, Sumpter told the outlet just where the idea came from to start the podcast.
“It came about because we were watching a bunch of baby videos and saw how much we used to tell Ella stories. We already do a lot of voice overs so we thought to create a special place for kids to use their imagination through listening.”
Sumpter continued saying that within the podcast, she created another series featuring “Ella the Curious,” hoping that this would provide a special place for kids to stretch their imaginations. “I created a series within Adventures of Curiosity Cove called ‘Ella the Curious’ about this little girl just trying to figure her life out through her drawings and school and all the things. We really created a special place for kids.”
During her interview, Sumpter said that her parenting style is a mixture of “new-age and old-school philosophies.” The actress revealed her number one parenting must-do is listening.
“The one thing I always try to do as a parent is actively listen to her when she has something to say,” she said. “Talking over her sometimes feels like what I have to say is way more important.” Making sure that she always hears what her daughter is saying ensures that Ella knows that “… she can trust me always. I just think it’s important to listen to your child and to hear them and let them know that somebody is listening.”
Make sure to tune-in to the Adventures of Curiosity Cove on September 9 where ever you podcast!
